Al Fresco Art Club, October 4, 2020: Learn from a Master

For today’s challenge I revisited Love and Rockets, the series that renewed my interest in comics. I’m a pen and ink guy deep down inside, and Jaime Hernandez is a master of the craft. When I started drawing five years ago, my first ink drawings were of Maggie, the main character throughout the Love and Rockets series, which began in 1982 and is still rocking on today.
The is my copy of Speedy storming away from some kind of incredible drama. How cool is it that the dog’s are the Greek chorus for the oncoming tragedy. The picture appears in The Art of Jaime Hernandez: The Secrets of Life and Death, page 121.
