Moving on to Thinking About Page 22 -- a Dramatic Chase Scene

Today I moved on to page 22 of my third children’s picture book. This is my initial concept image that shows the evil volcano spirit chasing Tupa the Moai along the beach. This is just a part of the final picture — the rest of the kids will also be in this scene.

Pictures like this take me a while to plan out. I have to organize all of the characters in an interesting — I hope it’s interesting — way. I’ll also have to decide whether this picture needs a background. If the image becomes more of a landscape picture as I add in the other characters, I’ll probably use a background to show the volcano from whence the demon emerges to pester everyone.

I used Photoshop to draw the picture and Clip Studio Paint to add the colors.
